The 8th Cake Of Christmas

Tiers of silver sequins shimmer and twinkle like a ballerina gliding across the stage.  While clusters of delicate sugar flowers add that extra pinch of pretty.  It’s absolutely breathtaking!  And it’s The 8th Cake of Christmas!

Jenna of Jenna Rae Cakes shares the inspiration for her design:

“My inspiration for this cake was a night out at the ballet. I think dressing up and heading out into the snow to watch the Nutcracker was such a great Christmas memory for me. I remember the beautiful ballerinas, the sparkly costumes and awe inspiring sets.”

Jenna of Jenna Rae Cakes tells us about her technique:

“I decided to use the ballerinas costumes as inspiration. The tutus inspired the bottom frilled tier. The vertical ribbons represent the ballerinas shoes, and the silver sequins represent the sparkle from their beautiful costumes.

I really love how this cake turned out, and I think it beautifully represents the ballet in a subtle way.”

Thank you to Jenna of Jenna Rae Cakes for creating this spectacular design for our Christmas series and inspiring with her amazing silver sequins! And thanks to Victoria Anne Photography and Ashley Nicole for the gorgeous images.

Tomorrow we move on to The 9th Cake of Christmas! But first, you may spy a new cupcake recipe coming at you later today…. hang tight.
